2025 Red Sox Bold Predictions!
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, there’s plenty to be both excited and frustrated about so far. The Red Sox have acquired both Garret Crochet and Walker Buehler, but they’ve yet to address a major hole in their lineup: the lack of a right-handed bat. That being said, let’s predict a few things that could still happen during the offseason and the regular season.
- The Red Sox sign Alex Bregman to a 3-year deal with opt-outs after each year.
The Red Sox have been heavily linked to Bregman throughout the offseason for several reasons, and I believe they will reach an agreement with him to fill the much-needed right-handed bat in their lineup.
- Garret Crochet wins the AL Cy Young Award.
We saw what Crochet was capable of last year in Chicago, even with limited innings. I don’t see anything stopping him this season. With the help of pitching coach Andrew Bailey, Crochet should only improve. I believe he’ll win some hardware and help the Red Sox reach the postseason for the first time in what feels like forever.
- The Red Sox win 95 games and the AL East.
With the additions of Crochet and Buehler (and potentially Bregman), the Red Sox have a strong chance to win the AL East. Baltimore has lost their ace and hasn’t made any significant signings other than Tyler O’Neill. New York lost Soto, and their fan base seems to believe their new additions are somehow better than having Juan Soto—I'm not buying it. The Blue Jays' health is a major question mark, so the division looks wide open. Not only is the AL East up for grabs, but the entire American League is as well, which leaves me hopeful for a deep playoff run this year.
